Christmas time, very hectic, very fun, and lots of love this time of year! I had Christmas eve off and we headed to Baca's parents to spend the night. We had an amazing 5 course dinner with everyone. Pa and Mary Anne where in attendance this year so it was great to let them finally meat June! I came thinking we would have dinner, hang out around the house to wake Christmas morning to more food and presents. We ended up opening all the gifts on Christmas eve so we could share that time with Pa, Mary Anne, Jake, and Holly who wouldn't be there on Christmas. I was very surprised at how much we got this year! June is set with plenty of toys and clothes. Jake and Holly got a car seat/stroller combo which they desperately needed! Holly was due January 11 so time was a tickin'. Thanks everyone for the gifts!
I put this one up because Baca was actually smiling!
Pa and June
I was showing Holly birthing videos and trying to give as much advice as possible! I hope I didn't bother her too much but she stuck around to talk more about baby and labor. I know it has only been three months since June came, so it is still fresh in my mind about the labor, insecurities, and things I wish I had done before she came. It was good to try and help someone in that situation!
Christmas morning I tried to sleep in. About 9 am I got June and began feeding her and talking on the phone with my mom going over plans that day. We were set on leaving about noon to go to the hotel to see my family. Mid conversation Bacas mom knocks on the door and whispers "I think Hollys water broke, can you come here to make sure?" Hearing that I shot up, told my mom I would talk to her later and let Baca take June. Jake and Holly were at home and texted Deb about how she was leaking everywhere. I responded "holy cow, her water broke". I asked them if she was having contractions. She said no. How lucky I thought! By the time my water broke is the time I was screaming for drugs! We told them we would meet them at the hospital!
On the way to the hospital Jake and Holly texted us about how rude the nurses were. We just thought it was their nerves. We drove to Brigham city to the smallest 'hospital' I had every seen. Christmas day there were barely any workers so it was a bit of a challenge to find our way (even if it was small). We finally made it to the labor and delivery area to find that the story was true. The nurses were horribly rude. I knew then it would be hard to enjoy the birthing experience in that kind of atmosphere. So, Deb and I put on a happy supportive face and went in to see the kids. We walked into a room with Holly crying and Jake nervously standing at her side. Memories started to flood my brain of my reaction to "your having this baby today" moment. It was scary, it was early, and you feared the worst. I knew thats what she felt. I tried to hold back tears but it was hard. The doctor had come in to try to move the baby. She was breach and since her water broke there was no room to turn her. With the room already filled with anxiety, they had decided on C section. Holly still crying, we tried to be as supportive as possible. They shipped her in the back within 30 minutes. Poor Jake didn't know what to do. He was just as scattered as Holly. My advice was to keep eye contact and not look at the procedure :) We waited for another 40 minutes. Long story short, Ambree came out 5 lbs 8 oz on Christmas day :D.

Around 1 B and I headed back to SLC to see my family. I don't have any pics yet but I will try to update when I get them!! Darla joined us on our family party at the hotel while we opened gifts. It was great to see my sister and her family and my parents. It was kind of a nice break after the emotional morning! We hung out for a while and went home for some rest. Sunday we tagged along with Ken and Andrea to their sacrament (we had to leave to go get our new apartment keys). That night was our dinner at their place. We had steaks, mashed potatoes, green beans, desserts! Mmmmmm! All so great! Another tradition is white elephant gifts and we had a fun time. B and I made out with some gift cards, cake pans and stove top stuff :P I left their place pretty tired. I had to work the next morning so, I had to leave before the games. It was an awesome time though! Thanks everyone!
Monday was work for me and moving for Baca. Yep, we moved again for like the 20th time! Josh and Susel moved back so we found another place to live. That is another blog though :)
