Laid Off.

I was technically laid off today at Latitude. The story behind it is this: Latitude had recently gotten Investors. Work has been a little slow and when they finally get all the numbers crunched they decide that we have too many people for how slow business is. Very understandable. I was lucky enough to be given a chance to save my job. If I do Rock City Rock Chip Repair full time for a while, I could be hired back at Latitude when it picks back up. Sadly, it is not a certain thing so it is even harder to wait it out. I am sending out my resume looking for a steady 9-5 receptionist/admin job (no sales :P). Rock City has been a stressful and a not so enjoyable job to have. I go through people and can never find a good enough guy to stick around. I have to meet my quota in order to get paid hourly, which doesn't sound bad but when the weather is crap for a whole week- no sales happen. Truthfully, I don't know what will happen if I don't meet it... I think I will be ok since I am managing everything (training, hiring, payroll, ect). It has been a little hard to keep motivated and then again I have all the motivation I need...money. A good thing is I will have a lot more freedom. I made sure to put my foot down with this one. I told my boss I will be in the office for a couple of hours and then I am out going to find rock chips or helping at the carwash. I am sure he wanted me in the office doing the same thing as usual- both Latitude and Rock City. Nope. I can still make a small commission on what chips I get but, the main part is making sure my hourly is covered (and it is a 1099 UGH! have to do my own taxes). I am going in at 10 tomorrow instead of 9 which is nice I guess. Aaron (my bosses brother) and I will be going to search for new Carwash's and then go to the location we have. The kid is a great salesmen but needs help (a LOT of help) with motivation. I have to be there to make sure he STAYS there for the most part. I am grateful I don't have to do it alone though. I am praying that maybe I make a ton more money and figure the system out that I won't mind doing it as much. But, I have a feeling after 30 days, no matter what happens I will be done with Rock City. It is like what my brother Wes says "sales sucks at first but, once you know the game- it gets easy". So far this has proven to be right. Still hate sales.

So- anyone with any reccomendations for jobs please hit me up. I have done management for about 6 months and have plenty of exerience with customer service ect.

Taren - I recently got a new job, so I am leaving my current job (Legal Secretary) where I've been the 2.5 years. They just posted the position in the Salt Lake Tribune. I know the hiring lady has received a ton of e-mails and I'm not sure what the competition is, but if you are still looking, you might send her your resume. Her name is Clarissa Andersen and her e-mail is: candersen@lp-law.com. My boss is fabulous, awesome guy to work for...however, it has not been my ideal job for many reasons. The pay is decent... I don't know what the starting salary is (DOE) but I had NO legal experience before I was hired so that wouldn't rule you out. It's a secure job...one you'd never get laid off at. It's salary and has health benefits (for you, not spouse). :)
