So far, so good with life. I made it to SC and had a great time! Sure did keep busy by planning time with friends and fam. Everyone got to enjoy the giant water slide (nope, no pics), Erin and I went swimming at night, I even got a little party at Erins house to see everyone. I just want to thank Candy and Justin for letting me crash and their place and everyone else for taking time out to see me! *waiting for Erin to post the pictures online so I will post them when she gets em up*
Some other things going on are me just working, and Baca needed a break from school (he has been going non stop for the past couple of years!! Summers and all!). Since he isn't in school he couldn't work at his regular job (work study) BUT- they will hire him back next month (whew, thank goodness!). My job is going good, a little slow nowadays but I am trying to stay busy and get referrals to make some extra cash.
We are still at the same apartment. I do a little extra work around the property to get some rent off. we moved our place around again and it looks great! (sorry no pics yet) Its interesting how a fresh look will make you feel like its a new place.
We are hanging out at Baca's parents and doing some laundry. A fun thing is we shaved the pugs...yep, shaved em almost bald! Lol. They look hilarious but they are a bit cooler so I am sure they don't care. You can kinda see the lines on brucey ( I did some of the shaving- it was fun :P)
Probably one of the best things that has gone down is our car situation. As many of you know I had my celica that was a stick ever since I have moved here. Baca isn't the greatest with driving a stick so I got stuck with the driving for the past couple of years (yes, years). We came across a good deal on an 08' subaru impreza wagon online. I have been interested in the Impreza wagon for a while (all wheel drive, a wagon for more space, automatic, ect) and I had already test driven the car. The past year or so I have driven a lot of the cars I thought I wanted such as: Toyota corolla, toyota matrix, honda element, honda pilot, civic, accord, ect. None of them had a great ride (noisey inside, felt cheaper) but I knew once I got in the subaru, it was a done deal. Baca and I headed to the dealership so we could get him to drive it. I had to have an 08 b/c of the body style and other features. I know it sounds retarded but it was what I wanted and if I was gonna pay for it, i was gonna get what I want. I originally wanted to get it through the auction (both my bosses could take me) but, the subaru I wanted was very scarce at the auction and the price diff wasn't much. Anyway- needless to say Baca drove it and was convinced it was a good little car. We had saved up a bit for a down payment and the trade in for the celica also aided us in our monthly payment price range. It was an easy sale for Dawn (the lady who sold us the car) b/c I already knew all about it and was ready to sign the paperwork. I had done a lot of homework about car stuff, yet I still worried about having buyers remorse. I am happy to say I have had no regrets and baca and I light up when we get in the car and blab about how much we love it. We are thankful we can have something so nice and feel like we did a good job! Oh- and while we were signing papers, it was subaru night there at the dealership. You go and attend this get together when you own a subaru and you listen to some experts about tips, you get free food, and win prizes. Since we were buying Dawn told us to enter for prizes. Baca and I put in our names with the hopes of winning a cool key chain or something. About the end of giving away prizes I already missed out on most of em, so I didn't get my hopes up about winning the best prize of them all- a camera. I still had that calming feeling of "it could happen" though. As he held up the nice little CoolPix camera for the last giveaway, he pulled the piece of paper and I felt it. I knew it when he had to pause and try to say the name! He called my name and I won! I laughed as I told baca it was a sign we made the right decision :)
It is an 08 Subaru Impreza 2.5 Li. Wagon premium package. It has a 6 disk CD changer (no more changing CD's!), automatic w/ a sport shifter, light material interior (i was so sick of leather), buttons on the wheel to change the radio stations (one of my fav things!), alloy wheels, fog lights (they both work too!), MP3 plug in, ect. One of my extra bonus/referral checks are going to tinting the windows. It is gonna be hot soon and I can't wait to not burn up!
