Horse back riding!

I was sooo excited to find a place that isn't the boring walk down the trail the whole time HB riding! I had planned to do this for our 2nd year anniversary but Baca wanted nothing to do with horses (yes, they are huge animals but c'mon!). Suanne is an awesome rider and nice lady! She is from Australia and had her wonderful accent still. (She also knew one of my favorite horse movies- Man from Snowy River- it was about an aussie and his horse living in the mountains) She owns only Paso Fino horses (she only has 7 at the moment) and raised them from babies. I read up on the breed and they have a great and smooth gate. It was hard not to sit up straight in the saddle when they got going, you had to relax and kind of slouch to keep a good seat. We started off a bit slow but, we definently got going pretty fast after that. When Magic and I connected and I wasn't focused on trying to keep my heels down and sit, we looked gorgeous together! He is a very sweet horse and I stayed on him the whole time lol :). **I had a disposable camera so the pictures don't do the senery justice!**

This was about half way through the ride and we headed down hill. It doesn't look steep but when we came close it was a big dropp off! I was kidding with Suanne and put my hand up and leaned back mimicking The guy in Snowy River (picture shown below- I couldn't find the one when he had his right hand in the air as they went down the mountain)

We had a pit stop and got some pics with me and Magic and Suannes horse :D (I don't usually wear helmets to ride but the terrain was all new and I had never ridden with them before. better safe than sorry!)

We were at the top of one small mountain and it had a seasonal cabin for hunters in the background. Pretty awesome views!

Across the fence are Clidesdale horses (like the budwiser commercials). These horses aren't for riding but for pulling. You see Suanne looking at Storm, a new baby in the group of studs and mares! She was just as stalky as her daddy!

I rode an endurance saddle on this ride to see how it felt. It was very similar to a western but had no horn. Next time I will ride what Jim is riding in the picture- an australian saddle. Suanne swears by them!

Suanne was telling me the young actor in the movie had no idea how to ride...at first. He learned and did all his own stunts! I had to check it out! She aslo mentioned the horse was a mustang mix. Craaazy!

That is so amazing T! It's so much better not to have to do strictly trail riding, with the horses nose-to-nose. How fun! You look so great!

I'm just now discovering your blog...so I've been reading up. It's great to hear how y'all are!

Love ya lots,
Lauren
